I don' have a topic today.
I was thinking what should one write on a blog and what should not.....
Do you need to be politically correct or should you write what you really think about things???
Do you be pessimistic or optimistic in your writing? Do you write about yourself or about others?? What is the best time of the day to write - first thing in the morning with a fresh mind or at end of the day when things have happened?
Oh so many confusing questions.....
Take the example of Neil Pasricha. He's just 2 odd years into blogging - 1000awesomethings.com - the simple idea of writing about 1 awesome thing everyday has made his site a hot commodity today and even won him prestigious awards and book on the same is a bestseller.
How simple is that?????

Awesome....!

Where to start.....?
This moment was awesome and peoples' happiness was exhibited via crackers and cheers and what not.....!
Sachin "GOD" Tendulkar completed his 18000 runs, what an achievement!!!!
Yuvi at his best in the match, wickets, runs, fielding was great...!
Raina and Ashwin justified their places in the squad.
Sachin, Yuvi, Gambhir all scrored half centuries, well done...
So now we take on Pakistan on Wednesday...and definitely it will be a terrific match....The pressure will be big...and celebrations will be big too.
But its just another match and lets hope and pray that Dhoni's blue army wins it ...
Now we want the cup really badly....
All the best to Men in Blue!!!!
Cheers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cricket mania.....and the religious Indians
This images does not need any description. Everybody, young or old, knows it well. and in their very unique ways can go to any extent to bring it to our country...
Cricket in India has many synonyms - religion, mania, desperation, celebration, culture and so on.... Take any person, and (S)he can talk about cricket better than anything else... Such is the mania of cricket in India.
Take today's match - India Vs Australia - People are already nervous about its outcome, some will take a holiday from office, others will "fall ill" only for today, roads will be lonely in the afternoon itself, those who still need to go to office, will be desperate to watch the match, other will gather around the television screens on display in TV/Electronics shops, Hotels will cash in on this mania by purposely putting TV screens to attract people and this list is unending....
One way or the other, every single person wants the cup this time. Be it for Sachin or for anything else, we want it desperately.
...and if by chance India wins this match, they will probably take on Pakistan and then it will be a bharat bandh on that day.....
Eating out.....!

Eating out comes first.....! and when it is one of your favorite restaurants, your set aside everything and set on the culinary experience that you love most.
Such was the case with me yesterday; that's why could not write the daily blog as promised.
We went to "Offbeat" yesterday for dinner. Its a smallish joint above Citypride Shoes shop opposite Karishma Society @ Kothrud, Pune. The far-eastern and continental menus there are quiet refreshing and a worth change from the usual restaurants. Different and definitely pleasant. Okay its a bit pricey, yes, but its sill good enough to keep you going there again and again.
I will not describe the menu or what we had yesterday, its for you all to try and decide.
And so I could not keep my promise. Anyways I will make up by writing two today....

From lullabies to stories.....

I am always singing one or the other lullaby to Shreya. While trying to make her sleep, while feeding her daily meal, while trying to engage her into something if she's bored and crying and so on...
When Shreya was born, I remember fretting over the fact that I didn't know even one lullaby to sing to her. I used to hum her into sleeping (not that she had sound sleep.....). Even my mother or my mother-in-law was find it hard to recollect any of their old ones..
Yes google was of some help, but search only showed the nursery rhymes or lullabies which were difficult to memorize and I was tired of searching further. There was only one song that my mother remembered and it was a great help... Then I broke it down to many smaller ones and tried singing one by one at different times and did the magic....
Nowadays Shreya sleeps only when I sing that particular verse, a number of times.....
Today she was playing with her toys and we were talking among ourselves, when she suddenly started babbling as if we had ignored her and she wanted us to talk to her. I realized, now we will have to tell her stories instead of only lullabies.
So when we had just settles comfortably with lullabies, its about time to tell stories and that to new everyday......!

Really connecting the dots....
I was reading the book " Connect the Dots" by Rashmi Bansal the other day.
All the stories are fabulous and well deserved. The people behind them - Crossword, Dosa Plaza, Su-kam inverters, VETA English training institute among others are really inspiring. They shout out loudly that you only need the determination to pursue you passion, observe, take some risk and move ahead in that direction.
They are purely driven by dedication and application of mind. But I was truely blown away by one story - Prem Ganapathy of Dosa Plaza. His is a really rags to riches story. The idea of creating something similar to McDonalds with what you know only a little about, is nothing short of a miracle. With nothing other than determination and the zest to create a place for yourself in this world, Prem Ganapathy ventured into this business and has achieved what he had dreamt of.
This book is really worth a read for all. May this book bring a lot mor entreprenuers into this vast ocean of of opportunities and possibilities!!!!!!

Playing with Shreya……
Shreya is growing fast, as are her mischiefs…! She likes her Mickey & Minnie toys – but only their tails and labels, magazines but only colorful ones and that too for tearing them, likes most noise making toys, she’s not at all camera conscious, wants to hold it in her hands and the list goes on….! And of course putting ALL things in her mouth….if nothing else…
Everyday we have to come up with at least one innovative thing to do, to keep her engaged. and she enjoys it too..like doing peek-a-boo with her own dress and so on…
But its fun and learning for us too… Every day brings new ideas and new mischiefs and we look forward to it.
God Bless!!!!!

Holi should be holy!!!!!

Only we can make it Holy....
It's about the holiness of the festival, the getting together to burn away the negative things, welcoming the positives, helping and guiding others to do the same and bringing a positive change in the world.
And of course its about the lighting of fire, about the colors, and about the mouth watering " Puran Poli" on this occasion, the enthusiasm among children to play with colored water and obviously the festvities.
Let's make it a memorable one!!!!!!!!

Shopping....!
Well first of all sorry for being late... I was rather busy doing another important task... after such a long time.... Shopping @Tulsibaug + Laxmi Road....
Actually I did not shop much, only a few necessary household items and a some summer clothes for Shreya... but then I found that these two places had changed a lot.
As for the less informed souls, these two are Pune's major shopping places, and among my favourites....And I shop best when I shop alone... well married gals here will definitely agree that hubbies are never interested in shopping at such places. I have not seen one such person...
If you go shopping after deciding what and where to buy, with options ready, then it will be delight. If you look at the chaos, then it will be difficult.
And it was a great experience for me....
Holi being near, shops were brimming with clothes, accessories and what not. And people of course.
And I saw a few new shops opened since my last visit.....In one of them, I got a few dresses for Shreya.
I think tomorrow, there will be more crowd, since its Holi and a saturday too.
Anyways, It was a great time spent today....

I am back....!
Tik...... Its 16th March 2011 12.00pm now....
I was a working woman till now. Then I had a baby, a very sweet, cuddly baby. I tried to balance my work and family life till today, but i was not happy..
Yes there was help at home to take care of Shreya... No doubt Shreya's Grandma and Grandpa are a huge support system for me, but when I went to office, I thought of Shreya and vice versa....
Then I realized that this is not going to work . So for Shreya, I have left my job and will be @home full time. We will play, laugh, cry, do mischiefs together and will definitely be happy.
My home will be filled with toys, it will never be quiet, my hair will be a mess, and I would be always tired, but in 20 years, my child won't remember the house or hair, but she will always remember the time we spent together and the love she felt. She has got only one child, so there lots to enjoy....!
And I promise to write everyday........! Let's see if I can fulfill it... :)
Enjoy life...and share happiness.....!
